Een nieuwe update van Dennis vandaag: Het lijkt stil maar dat is het niet. Dinand is net terug uit New York alwaar er uitgebreid gezongen is. Resultaat? Single twee ligt binnen handbereik! Bet you gonna love this one! Data release en dergelijke volgen snel!
Het gebruikelijke hoesje erom heen ligt ook op schema. Art work is bijna klaar. Dan hebben we nog een video te schieten. Altijd leuk. Wederom met onze vriend Bjørn uit België die al druk in de weer is met de voorbereidingen. Dan gaat Dinand de komende tijd de rest van de plaat inzingen en zal er gemixed gaan worden. De deadlines hijgen ons in de nek maar we zitten nog op schema.
Ik kreeg al wat verontrustende mailtjes uit Belgie . No worries, daar gaan we binnenkort ook heen en je krijgt de info erover op deze website zodra alles helemaal rond is. Kanefans, het wachten zit er bijna op. Binnenkort meer nieuws op KANE.NL . Its gonna be a long HOT summer! tot snel!
Belgium on the agenda
A new update from Dennis today: Things seem relaxed on this end but it ain't. Dinand just got back from New York where he's been singing. Result? KANE single number 2 is nearly ready to be released! Bet you gonna love this one! Release date and more info soon!
The artwork for the new single is nearly finished as well. Then there's a video to be shot. Always great fun. Once again with our friend Bjørn from Belgium who's already busy with preparing things on that front. Afterwards Dinand will finish off singing in the new album and there will be some mixing to be done as well. Deadlines are tight but still we're on schedule.
Got some disturbing mails from Belgium . No worries, we'll soon be heading over there and all info on this trip will be put on www.kane.nl . Kanefans, the waiting is nearly over. Soon more news on KANE.NL Its gonna be a long HOT summer! See you soon!

Ik had jullie al verteld dat Scott, onze producer in het land is. Voornamelijk om de opnamens uit New York te checken en de beste takes te kiezen. Maar vandaag zijn we ook gitaren aan het opnemen op een vertrouwde plek: de Wisseloord studios in Hilversum. Lees de volledige update op de KANE hyves …

Dennis wrote an update: I already mentioned Scott, our producer, is in town these days. Primarily to check the recordings made in NY and to extract the best ones. Today we're recording some guitars in a familiar spot: The Wisseloord studios in Hilversum. Funny story about that place to tell: our engineer back in NY (Neil Dorfsmann) once worked on the famous Hysteria record of Def Leppard here at the Wisseloord studios for months alongside the legendary producer Mutt Lange, husband of Shania Twain (name dropping, got good at that ever since we've been in NY). Neil told us the Wisseloord studio got his name from that legendary recording session. It lasted a staggering 3 years. The producer insisted the guitars were recorded string by string and drums had to be recorded at the nearby swimming pool because the sound was awesome. Those were the days. I suggested we'd do the same but unfortunately nobody fell for that… Anyway, at the Wisseloord we're on known territory because here's where we recorded the 'As Long As You Want This' album and the 'What if' was mixed here by Tim Palmer. Mind blowing exciting sessions of table tennis were played here during breaks with Tim. All won by us, off course. And b-sides, one with the longest title ever: 'Christmas Time Won't Be The Same Without You But Maybe Next Year It Will', and 'Moment Of Truth', were recorded here. Good to be back. Two days later and three songs more. Today's Saturday and single 2 is almost finished. Everybody's excited! Sounds awesome. But we got a tight schedule and we're now working on track 4. Meanwhile girlfriends, buddies, record company friends, publishing mates and visual artists drop in. Amongst them Reyn, friend of the family, who played some string-music. Great to record in Holland but at the same time it's distracting. Different then recording in a studio on a mountain near Woodstock, where you gotta take in groceries for a week or take a stroll for 2 hours for that milk. Greetz, Den

Dinand Woesthoff opent Negenmaandenbeurs

Zanger Dinand Woesthoff de Haagse band Kane opent op woensdag 13 februari samen met actrice Babette van Veen de Negenmaandenbeurs in de RAI in Amsterdam.
De Negenmaandenbeurs is het grootste Nederlandse evenement op het gebied van zwangerschap en baby's. Bezoekers kunnen zich op de beurs laten informeren over verzorging, voeding, kleertjes, vervoer, kinderkamers en speelgoed. Dinand Woesthoff opent de beurs om aandacht te vestigen op de tekenfiguurtjes Woezel & Pip. Deze hondjes zijn ooit bedacht door Guusje Nederhorst, de in 2004 overleden vrouw van de Kane-zanger. Van Woezel & Pip zijn verschillende boekjes, CD's, babykleren en speelgoed te koop. Ook wordt er gewerkt aan een televisieserie en een theatervoorstelling over de belevenissen van de hondjes.
Tijdens de Negenmaandenbeurs zal Babette van Veen dagelijks voorlezen uit de boekjes van de hondjes. De beurs is van 13 tot en met 17 februari in de RAI.
Dinand to open the 'Nine months fair'

Lead singer Dinand Woesthoff of Dutch rockband Kane will open along side actress Babette van Veen the nine months fair on the 13th of February at the Amsterdam RAI venue.
The nine months fair is the largest fair for pregnant woman and all their needs in The Netherlands. Visitors of the fair can get informed on how to nurse their child, nourishment, baby clothes, carriage, nursery rooms and toys. Dinand Woesthoff will open the fair to put the spotlight on the cartoon figures Woezel & Pip. These cute little dogs were created by Guusje Nederhorst, the in 2004 tragically departed wife of the Kane-frontman. Already there have been released Woezel & Pip books, CD's, baby clothes and toys. Soon little ones will also see them appear on television and in theatre.
During the nine months fair Babette van Veen will read stories of Woezel & Pip to all visitors. The fair, at the Amsterdam RAI venue, will be open from the13th until the 17th of February.

Gister hebben we voor het eerst in ons KANE bestaan bij Paul de Leeuw gespeeld. Ik moet zeggen, dat viel niet tegen. Heb het net even bij uitzending gemist gezien en wat klonk die nieuwe firebird, die ik mezelf kado heb gedaan, lekker zeg! ;-)

2nd time live for KANE!!!

Yesterday we played live at the show of Paul de Leeuw for the very first time in KANE history. Must admit, not bad at all. Just watched the show on tape and damn that new firebird I gave myself as a birthday present sounded awesome! ;-)
Gotta thank you guys as well for our number 2 entry in the charts! Dinand already thanked you guys but have to join in here too! Great. Really close finish there (2%!!!) so we'd almost popped the cork of the champagne bottle. In any case we'd better wait with doing that until the second single will be released, another part for sure! Really great you were there once again supporting us like you did. Think CATWALK CRIMINAL got a hold on you guys now doesn't it. Took some time, no prob. We already knew the song for a while. Once again, thanks for the support!
This week it's working back at home in The Netherlands. Producer Scott Jacoby should be stepping out the airplane as I write this. Dinand and Scott will take a listen at the recordings made at the All Aire Studio and we'll record some additional tracks. We're slowly finishing that recording proces. Still should take a while I guess what's always exciting I think. But one thing's for sure. It's gonna be one hell of a record!
