In de nieuwsbrief van de heren van KANE lezen we:
Na 2 weken intensief opnemen in de All Aire Studios bij Woodstock in upstate New York, zijn we gister weer aangekomen in Nederland. Echt raar om weg te zijn als je single uitkomt. Maar vanochtend kregen we een sms van Universal met het goedenieuws dat de single momenteel op #2 staat in de midweek, de tussentijdse chart (Nederland). Dat is geweldig! Maar de echte, definitieve chart moet nog komen en wel op VRIJDAG! En we kunnen jullie melden dat we echt ernstig dicht bij de #1 staan. Echt heeeeel dichtbij!

CATWALK CRIMINAL AT #2 IN MIDWEEK CHART!

In the KANE newsletter we can read:
After two weeks of recording intensly at the All Aire Studios near Woodstock in upstate New York we finally came back home yesterday. Weird to be out of the country at the time your new single is being released. But this morning we got a text message from Universal with some good news! Catwalk criminal, our new single, has reached the #2 position in the Dutch midweek chart. That's amazing! But a real chart entry hasn't been made… we're counting on FRIDAY! And we can already say we're really really close to that magical #1 position.
If enough Dutch fans buy the single before Friday the guys can make it to that #1 position. Hope they got that champagne on ice…

Bandleden David Bowie op nieuwe Kane-CD

Gelezen op de website van Gerard : De Amerikaanse muzikanten Sterling Campbell en Gail Ann Dorsey werken mee aan de opnamen van de nieuwe Kane-CD. Beiden spelen in de begeleidngsband van David Bowie. Drummer Campbell is verder o.a. bekend van zijn werk met Duran Duran, Soul Asylum, B-52's, Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop, Tina Turner en Lou Reed. Bassiste Dorsey speelde o.a. met Gwen Stefani, Bryan Ferry, Tears For Fears en Skin.
KANE neemt de nieuwe CD grotendeels op in de Amerikaanse All Aire Studios in New York's Catskill Mountains. Het album moet over enkele maanden verschijnen. Als voorloper ligt vanaf morgen de single 'Catwalk crminal' in de winkel.

Bandmembers David Bowie on new KANE album

Read on the website of Gerard : The musicians Sterling Campbell and Gail Ann Dorsey are collaborating with the guys on the new KANE album. Both play alongside David Bowie on stage. Drummer Campbell is known for his work with Duran Duran, Soul Asylum, B-52's, Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop, Tina Turner and Lou Reed. Bassist Dorsey played alongside Gwen Stefani, Bryan Ferry, Tears For Fears and Skin.
KANE is currently recording their new album at the All Aire Studios in New York's Catskill Mountains. The new album is expected to be in stores in a few months. The first single of the album 'Catwalk crminal' is in stores as of tomorrow.

Ook Dinand Woesthoff wil actie tegen Bulgarije

Nadat Chris Duchauchoit na het zien van de BBC-documentaire 'Bulgaria's abandoned children' de Belgische politici wakker schudde met zijn emotionele oproep om hulp is nu ook Dinand Woesthoff van de Haagse rockgroep KANE op de barrikade gesprongen voor deze weeskinderen en heeft in emails aan diverse Nederlandse politici opgeroepen tot actie tegen het land Bulgarije. Naar aanleiding van de BBC-televisiedocumentaire 'Bulgaria's abandoned children', mailde Woesthoff vanuit Amerika onder andere naar Jan Marijnissen van de SP en Femke Halsema van GroenLinks. In de documentaire is te zien hoe gehandicapte en arme kinderen onder zeer slechte omstandigheden moeten leven in een kindertehuis in Bulgarije.
GroenLinks heeft inmiddels kamervragen gesteld over de kwestie. Ook is de partij een online-petitie gestart tegen de onmenselijke omstandigheden in de weeshuizen. De partij wil met de petitie naar de Europese Unie stappen.

Dinand Woesthoff raises awareness…

A few days after Belgian tv-presenter Chris Duchauchoit made an emotional appeal to politicians in Belgium regarding the BBC-documentairy 'Bulgaria's abandoned children' there we see Dinand Woesthoff of Dutch rockband KANE joining forces to raise awareness for the inhuman living conditions of these abandoned children. Dinand called upon several Dutch politicians by writing them emails to start immediate action against Bulgaria. After watching the BBC-television documentairy 'Bulgaria's abandoned children', Woesthoff (still recording in Amerika) send out emails to Jan Marijnissen from the Dutch SP party and Femke Halsema of the Dutch GroenLinks party. In the documentairy it's shown how handicapt together with poor children are being cared for in dreadfull conditions in an orphanage in Bulgaria.
The GroenLinks party has already started debats on this topic and started an online-petition against the inhuman conditions in orphans' homes like these. They will hand over the results of the petition to the European Union.

Dennis wrote an update on the KANE hyves today:
OK, 6 hours time difference means you're having your birthday but then again you ain't. You're turning a year older but you can postpone this four about six hours. Because we're in New York. GMT -5. Seriously I was kinda bummed with it. Usualy it's waking up with breakfast in bed at home you know. And this time I was woken up by a phonecall from dj Giel Beelen. That's no shit. But the day turned out really awesome. All day long I got text messages with congratulations and really wicked shout outs on hyves and myspace. Then there were gifts from Nico and Dinand and even some people of the recordcompany paid me a visit. Spoiled myself with a new guitar (a mindblowing firebird 1976, my year of birth) and went out for dinner (Japanese) in Manhattan. New York ain't that bad. Each and everyone of you thanks for the congratulations! Far from home yet feels so close! Thanks, really feel you!
Tomorrow we'll be back in action. Back to the All Aire Studios in Woodstock. Record a song and a lot of guitars and some vocals. So looking forward to that! Nico stayed a little longer and he's - like us - in a real New York state of mind. If I can get my hands on the right cable tomorrow I might be able to show you guys what we're up to here. Keep your eyes on our KANE official Hyves, Myspace, Facebook and YouTube for that ok.
Boys and girls. On the 2nd of February we'll be at the show of Paul de Leeuw (Dutch live tv-show). We'll meet up there deal?

Gelezen op de website van het Haags Pop Podium :
Zanger Dinand Woesthoff en gitarist Dennis van Leeuwen van de Haagse rockband Kane zijn vandaag te gast op radio Q-Music Nederland.
De muzikanten worden tussen 16.00 en 19.00 uur te horen in het programma van presentator Menno Barreveld. Ze zijn dan net terug uit Amerika waar is gewerkt aan de afronding van het nieuwe album van Kane dat over enkele maanden zal verschijnen. Q-Music is in Den Haag en omgeving te beluisteren via 100.7 FM.

They're expected there between 16u and 19u on the show of dj Menno Barreveld. The guys just got back from Amerika where they finished working on their new album which will be released in a few months. You'll be able to listen to Dutch radio Q-Music in The Hague on 100.7 FM.

In a new update on the Dutch KANE hyves Dinand wrote this:
Fuck…. freezing here! Nice blue sky, views go on to Canada with frozen lakes and tones of snow. Walking in a winter wonderland is what hey call this I think. We're back in Woodstock. Home of many but also the All Aire Studios . In the next few days we'll finish of drum, bass and basic recordigs. Nope not quite finished yet. Long way to go. Heading there. That's for sure. Far from home. In the middle of nowhere, in one of the nicest studios we've ever been. Catwalk Criminal has been released today. For now online and on Friday in stores. Feels kinda weird. I'm writing this from a room overviewing the mountains while back at home the single is being released. Hope you'll download it or go out and buy it on Friday. Just saying that 'because we're so proud of it. This is KANE in 2008. Every time I play Catwalk I'm thinking 'I wanna be in that band!' Which is good 'because they tell me I am ha, ha.And we could use your support. We've decided to take KANE to the edge. Where's the excitement in us, that unknown thing, that you know has been there all along? Ha, ha, that's in a way the definition of the next KANE record…number 4. How do we take it to the next level? With you guys at our side, we hope. So we try to create the best tracks. Which will be released on single. So you just gotta download ( uh uh not on limewire ha, ha) the new single or get it at your local (Dutch) store on Friday.

On Monday the new KANEsingle CATWALK CRIMINAL will be available on iTunes…And a few days later Dutch fans can get their hands on it at their local musicstores… Great if you're living let's say in Greece or Phoenix hu?! You'll only hear the new single if you play it on you're mp3 and not 1200 times a day on the radio like the Dutch fans. Crap right…
Well not really… because YOU can give KANE some airplay on your local radiostation…it'll just take a minute or two, three, naaah four if that's ok with you sexy guys and gorgeous ladies?
Go and contact your favourite radiostation, local radio or studentradio by mail or phone and ask them -kindly- to play the new KANEsingle CATWALK CRIMINAL. If they do GREAT (let us and the guys from KANE know), if they don't… ah well they might be a little intimidated by Dennis's guitar… things like that happen…Just try again with the next single release ;)

Sinds gister staat er op de official KANE hyves dit te lezen:
Van KANE.NL , naar HYVES , naar MY SPACE , naar YOU TUBE , naar FACEBOOK , naar de fansites… Je gaat ons vanaf nu overal kunnen vinden op het net.
Met ons gaat het heel goed. Het zijn spannende dagen, want onze eerste single van het aankomende album, CATWALK CRIMINAL, is sinds 1 januari op de radio/on-line/TV. Daarmee kwam een eind aan het stil op de achtergrond werken aan nieuwe tracks. De aftrap kwam om 00.10 en nu is het keihard doorwerken in New York om alles op tijd klaar te krijgen. We're doing just fine thanks. Exciting days for us now CATWALK CRIMINAL the first single of the new album was released on Dutch radio, on-line and Dutch tv on the 1th of January. No more working in the background on the new tracks, we got full exposure. The kick-off came at 10 minutes past midnight and working our asses off in New York to get everything finished on time. CATWALK CRIMINAL is , as you've noticed by now, a single that's got a totally new sound. Takes a bit of getting used to? Yeah sure does. Just listen to the track a few times, let it sink in. We're proud as hell of CAT WALK CRIMINAL and both Dennis and me got that 'damn I wanna be in that band' -feeling. Hope you feel it to. We also hope you feel the lay-outs/feel of the sites and new singles. For KANE it's a totally new flow, new inspiration. Same for you?

Hey jij!

Ons weekend was fan-tas-tisch en natuurlijk hopen we dat t'jouwe ook zo was. Maar genoeg over ons…back to business sexy…
Vanochtend schoven Dinand en Dennis aan bij Giel voor de uitzending van Giel op 3FM. Eindelijk kwamen de vrienden van KANE nog eens langs bij Giel. Dinand en Dennis kwamen babbelen over hun nieuwe album. En Giel had een primeur voor hun: een vette versie van 'Catwalk Criminal' gemixed door Roland Molendijk. Het was een beetje eng om hem voor't eerst zo live op de radio te horen maar het leek toch in de smaak te vallen… Naast de luisteraars goed wakker te hebben geschud met wat remixjes op het vroege uur vertelde Dinand en Dennis nog tussendoor dat naast de mega gig in de Rotterdamse Kuip er ook een aantal try-outs op Nederlandse bodem op de agenda staan. Maar ook het buitenland (oa. BELGIE) mag genoeg aandacht en MaYhEm van de heren verwachten in 2008… Na het bezoek aan Giel was het weer tijd om richting The Big Apple te reizen om die nieuwe cd af te werken want het zou maar eens kunnen dat die in april al in de winkel ligt liet Dinand nog tot slot ontvallen.

Our weekend was BooYah great and we sure hope yours as well…But enough about us…back to business sexy…
Early this morning Dinand and Dennis payed a visit to Dutch radio 3FM to talk to dj Giel . After a long time our friends from KANE dropped by to say Hi to Giel. Dinand and Dennis came to talk about their new album. And Giel surprised them with an exclusive: the awesome 'Catwalk Criminal' remix made by dj Roland Molendijk. Clearly it was a bit scary for them to hear the track for the first time live on the radio but no worries the guys like it Roland… Next to waking up listeners with their remixes Dinand and Dennis also mentioned that next to the huge concert at the Rotterdam Kuip there also will be some try-out gigs at Dutch venues. In addition they mentioned foreign fans will get a chance to visit a KANEconcert (for sure BELGIUM fans) and enjoy some of the MaYhEm from these gentlemen as they still want to do some exciting things abroad… After visiting Giel the guys are back on their way to The Big Apple to finish the new album which might be in stores as soon as April Dinand concluded the conversation.

Gisteren was er op Nederland3 de uitzending van het programma '24 uur met…' , waarin Dinand een one on one gesprek had met gastheer Wilfried de Jong in een ruimte door hem zelf gekozen. De reacties hierop zijn divers: gaande van boeiend, intens, respect voor die man tot saai, niet wat ik ervan verwacht had en zelfs belachelijk…

Last night Dutch channel 3 broadcasted the talkshow '24 uur met…' , where Dinand had a one on one talk with host Wilfried de Jong at a location chosen by himself. Some of the feedback we got is very diverse: some state it was captivating, intense, respect for Dinand, boring, so not what I expected to see and even ridiculous…

Dennis van Leeuwen en Dinand Woesthoff van de Haagse band Kane zijn komende vrijdag te gast in het programma re:action op TMF Nederland. De nieuwe single 'Catwalk criminal' van Kane is deze week Superclip op TMF. Dat betekent dat de clip in één week zestig keer voorbijkomt bij de muziekzender.
Vanavond is rond 22.00 uur op Nederland 3 een interview te zien met Dinand Woesthoff in het televisieprogramma '24 uur met…' , dat wordt gepresenteerd door Wildfried de Jong.
Komende maandag is Kane te gast in het ochtendprogramma van Giel Beelen op Radio 3FM.

The new KANEsingle 'Catwalk criminal' has been launched as the Superclip on TMF this week. Which means the clip will be played about 60 times in one week on TMF the Netherlands.
Tonight from 22u00 on Dutch channel 3 viewers get a chance to watch an interview with Dinand Woesthoff in the show '24 uur met…' , which is presented by Wildfried de Jong.
Next Monday Kane will pay a visit to the early morning radioshow of Giel Beelen on Dutch Radio 3FM.

Net als ons, de twee one and only KANEpromoladies , is Lies van de Belgische fansite drawingkane.be actief haar favoriete band aan het promoten. Deze keer bij de grote Belgische radiozenders. Zo roept ze KANEfans via haar site op om massaal de nieuwe single 'Catwalk criminal' aan te vragen bij Donna , Studio Brussel en Qmusic . En dat nog voor de nieuwe KANEsingle bij de radiostations in de playlist opgenomen is om zo een snellere airplay te forceren. En dat… dat vind wij een erg kicken actie van Lies!

TMF Superclip en in Musiqlub

Via de website van AT Productions lezen we dat 'Catwalk criminal' superclip is bij TMF Nederland :
Kane is terug! Na 'Believe It' uit 2006 werd het even stil rond de Haagse rockers, maar hun nieuwe single 'Catwalk Criminal' wordt volgens ons een dikke hit dus we hebben 'm gebombardeerd tot TMF Superclip! 'Catwalk Criminal' is een echt Kane kraker door het typerende stemgeluid van Dinand Woesthoff en de gitaarriffs van Dennis van Leeuwen, maar toch klinkt de single anders dan andere Kane nummers. En dat is nou net de bedoeling. De band is met hun nieuwe album een andere weg ingeslagen en daar is 'Catwalk Criminal' een voorproefje van. Dat belooft dus veel goeds! De single ligt pas vanaf 21 januari in de winkels, maar jij kan 'Catwalk Criminal' van Kane online bekijken in de TMF Mediaplayer!
Ook op de website van Musiqlub.nl is de nieuwe KANEclip toegevoegd, check em via deze link . Belgische fans moeten nog een beetje geduld oefenen maar ook daar zal 'Catwalk criminal' snel op radio en tv opgemerkt worden…

Kane is back! After the release of 'Believe It' in 2006 it got a bit quiet for this band, but their new single 'Catwalk Criminal' has the potential to become a huge hit we think so we bombarded it to our TMF Superclip!
'Catwalk Criminal' has got all the ingredients of a true Kane smash hit combined with the typical sound of lead singer Dinand Woesthoff and guitarriffs of Dennis van Leeuwen, and yet the new tracks sounds totally new to their previous tracks. Tijdens de jaarwisseling gaf hij nog de aftrap naar 2008 en een paar uur later zat Dinand al naast Claudia de Breij om als gastheer het programma De wereld draait door te presenteren. In een kort gesprek ter aanvang van het programma blikte hij samen met Claudia terug naar de première van 'Catwalk criminal' en het aankomende KANEjaar. Ondertussen… Nieuwjaarsnacht in Rotterdam…

De mist was een beetje een vuile spelbreker maar KANE kwam z'n belofte na: ze presenteerden een sexy nieuwe single en het publiek aan de Wilhelminakade kreeg een Dinand en Dennis - geflankeerd door een paar nieuwe frisse muzikanten en good old Nico - die lekker stonden te rocken op dat pontonnetje…
Was je er niet bij tijdens de jaarwisseling check dan de fansite www.kaneruless.com voor de opnames van die nacht met 'Catwalk criminal', 'Rain down on me', de Kinks cover 'All day and all of the night' en 'As long as you want this' als afsluiter.

Meanwhile… New Year's Eve in Rotterdam…

The fog was a bit of a kill-joy but KANE fufilled their promise: they presented a sexy new single and the crowd at the Wilhelminadock got a glance of Dinand and Dennis - surrounded by a couple of fresh new faces and good old Nico - who were having the best time rocking on that little pontoon…
