KANE op Artquake?

Op de site van MusicFromNL lezen we:
In juni 2008 vindt de 10e editie van Artquake Open Air plaats. Om dit jubileum te vieren wil de organisatie "het beste van 10 jaar Artquake Open Air" nog een keer terug laten komen tijdens deze speciale editie van het festival. En jij kunt door je stem uit te brengen er wellicht voor zorgen dat jouw favoriet straks op het hoofdpodium staat.
In de 10 jaar die Artquake Open Air nu bestaat hebben artiesten als Anouk, KANE (zij stonden op de line-up van 2001 maar werden vervangen door Van Dik Hout omdat Dinand ziek was - Thnx Kim!) Krezip, Heideroosjes, Opgezwolle, Di-rect, Don Diablo, Brainpower, Michel de Hey, Leaf, Beef!, Intwine en The Opposites al eens op het programma gestaan. Tijdens de 10e editie zal een aantal van deze artiesten nogmaals terugkeren. Om tot een selectie te komen van "het beste van 10 jaar Artquake Open Air" roept de organisatie van het festival iedereen op, om te stemmen op zijn of haar favoriete act van de afgelopen 10 jaar.
Ga naar www.artquake.nl en breng vóór 10 december een stem uit op de act- KANE KANE KANE KANE KANE …duidelijk? - die je nog een keer terug wilt zien op Artquake Open Air. Als je je tegelijkertijd aanmeldt voor de mailinglist, maak je ook nog eens kans op een Artquake Open Air goodiebag. Eind december wordt de uitslag bekendgemaakt op de site.
De organisatie van Artquake Open Air gaat vervolgens proberen de vijf acts waarop het meest gestemd is, te programmeren voor Artquake Open Air 2008.

In june of next year the 10th edition of the Artquake Open Air festival will take place. To celebrate this the organisation wants to showcase 'the best of 10 years of Artquake Open Air' on this special edition of the festival. And you get the chance to vote your favourite artist on stage this special edition.

Muzikanten opgelet: wat is het meest invloedrijke album?

Via de site van het Nationaal Pop Instituut lezen we:
Muzikantenmagazine Musicmaker wil er achter komen wat de honderd meest invloedrijke albums zijn voor de Nederlandse muzikanten. Wij als KANEpromoladies hopen dan dat een KANEalbum ooit inspiratie was voor beginnende bandjes/artiesten. De lijst zal in het decembernummer verschijnen en iedere muzikant kan meehelpen met het samenstellen.
Naast honderd bekende Nederlandse artiesten die door het blad zelf benaderd zullen worden, vraagt Musicmaker ook alle ándere muzikanten om hun Top 10 in te sturen. Zo wil Musicmaker in kaart brengen wat toch de platen zijn geweest die de vaderlandse popscene hebben gevormd tot wat ie nu is.
Voor de duidelijkheid: het gaat hier dus expliciet niet om 'de mooiste albums' die de muzikanten als luisteraar of muziekliefhebber zouden kiezen, maar om de albums die hen motiveerden om muzikant te worden, die hen deden besluiten om zelf in een band te gaan spelen, die hun muziekstijl bepaalden en die wellicht nog steeds een bron van inspiratie zijn.Misschien was dat As long as you want this of Fearless ?
Muzikanten kunnen via deze site hun top 10 geven. Musicmakers Top 100 zal verschijnen in Musicmaker 12, die 20 december in de winkel ligt.

Attention Dutch musicians: what album inspired you the most?

On the site of the Nationaal Pop Instituut we can read :
Dutch music magazine Musicmaker wants to find out which albums were the most influential for Dutch musicians. The KANEpromoladies hope one of the KANEalbum once was such an inspiration for young and upcoming bands/artists. The list will be featured in the December issue of the magazine and every musician has a say in the end result.
Beside one hundred famous Dutch artists who will be approached by the magazine, every other Dutch musician will be asked to send in his/her Top 10. By doing so Musicmaker want to create a demographic overview of those records which made Dutch pop scene what it is to this day.
To be clear: it's not the 'most beautiful records' that'll be chosen by the listeners or music lovers, but those albums that motivated them to become musician, that triggered them to start up their own band, influenced their musical style and are still on this day a source of inspiration to them. Maybe that was As long as you want this or Fearless ?
Dutch musicians can send in their Top 10 by using this link . Musicmakers Top 100 will be featured in the issue of Musicmaker 12, which will be in bookstores on the 20th of December.

Gisteravond zat er in RTL Boulevard een interview met Dennis en Dinand vanuit De Kuip. Ze gingen op een regenachtige middag de sfeer van een lege Kuip opsnuiven en riepen ook alle sexy meisjes en jongens op om 28 juni 2008 lekker te komen dansen met dat sexy bandje. Als dat maar goed komt…

KANE bij nieuwjaarsconcert in Rotterdam

Dinand zei het gisteren al tijdens een interview in De Wereld Draait Door en vandaag geeft de site van het Haags Pop Podium wat meer informatie rondom de kick-off van het KANEjaar:
KANE geeft op 1 januari, direct na de jaarwisseling, een concert op een ponton in de Maas in Rotterdam. De Rotterdamse Nieuwjaarsnacht moet een evenement worden dat vergelijkbaar is met de grote feesten in steden als Sydney, Londen en New York waar duizenden mensen elkaar onder een hemel van vuurwerk een gelukkig nieuwjaar toewensen. De Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam vormt het decor van de Nederlandse variant hierop.
Op 31 december start om 21.00 uur het feest op de Wilhelminapier. Voor het feest zullen 15.000 kaarten worden verkocht. Direct na het vuurwerk om middernacht zal de Haagse band KANE optreden. De groep speelt dan voor het eerst de nieuwe single van het album dat in het voorjaar uitkomt. Behalve Kane treden nog enkele andere acts op. De definitieve line-up wordt komende vrijdag 16 november bekendgemaakt. Een dag later begint de kaartverkoop via www.nieuwjaarsnacht.nl Tickets kosten 8 euro per stuk.

KANE kick-off New Years celebrations in Rotterdam

Yesterday Dinand already mentioned something about it during an interview on the show De Wereld Draait Door and today we can read up on some more information about the KANE kick-off to 2008 on the site of the Haags Pop Podium :
KANE will perform on the 1st of January, immediately after the turn of the year, on a pontoon on the Maas river, Rotterdam. The Rotterdam New Years Eve celebrations will be comparable to the impressive festivities in Sydney, Londen and New York where thousands wish each other happy New Year under skies lit with fireworks. The Erasmusbrug in Rotterdam will be the decor for the Dutch public.
The party will kick off on the 31th of December at 21u00 on the Wilhelminadock. There will be 15.000 tickets on sale for this event. Minutes after the New Years Eve fireworks KANE will perform it's brand new single from the new album that'll be released that year. Next to Kane other artists will perform. The full line-up will be revealed on Friday the 16th of November. The next day ticket sales for this event start on www.nieuwjaarsnacht.nl Tickets will cost 8 euro each.

Vanaf maandag 3 december tot en met vrijdag 7 december hoor je op Qmusic de allergrootste hits tijdens de Q Greatest Hits Top 1000. Net zoals vorig jaar kan jij weer meebepalen wie in deze lijst komt. Je 3 favoriete hits kan je sinds gisteren via deze pagina doorgeven aan de Qredactie. KANE lanceert eigen myspace en gaat LIVE IN DE KUIP

Onheilspellend zwart werd een sexy pin-up met gitaar ofwel: kane.nl kondigde afgelopen vrijdag het concert van KANE in De Kuip te Rotterdam aan. Tegelijkertijd lanceerde de band een eigen myspace waarop in no time oude en nieuwe fans verzamelden.
De kaartverkoop voor dit concert start zaterdag 17 november om 10:00 uur.Op dit moment werkt KANE in New York aan de opnamen van hun nieuwe album, dat in het voorjaar van 2008 in de winkels zal liggen. Op zaterdag 28 juni staat KANE voor het eerst sinds bijna 2 jaar weer met een eigen show op het fameuze podium. Dit is het enige grote concert dat KANE in Nederland zal geven.
Na de mega-concerten in de Amsterdamse ArenA, het Almerestrand en het Malieveld in Den Haag, is de Rotterdamse Kuip de lang verwachte vervolgkeuze.KANE in De Kuip. Op zaterdag 28 juni is zover. 'Zoals Paradiso 'de' rocktempel is van Nederland, zo is De Kuip in Rotterdam 'het' rockstadion. Dat voel je als je er bent. Ze is anders dan alle andere, ze is de mooiste. KANE launches a myspace and goes LIVE AT DE KUIP

Ominous black turned into a sexy pin-up with guitar, or to say: kane.nl announced on Friday a KANE gig at the Rotterdam Kuip. At the same time the band launched their myspace where in no time old and new fans gathered.
Ticketsales for the gig will start this Saturday the 17th of November at 10 o'clock. At this moment KANE is in New York recording their new album, which will be in stores early 2008. On Saturday the 28th of June KANE will perform for the first time in almost two years on the fabulous stage of De Kuip. It will be the only gig of that size in Holland that year.
After the mega-gigs at the Amsterdam ArenA, the Almere beach and at the Malieveld in The Hague, De Rotterdam Kuip is the long awaited new venue. KANE at De Kuip. Fade to black…

Sinds dinsdagavond staat kane.nl op zwart. In een update begin september liet Dinand "Hou deze site in de gaten, want binnenkort gaan we onszelf ook wegtoveren ha ha" vallen.
Bij deze: mission accomplished.
Er zit duidelijk iets aan te komen… iets kicken… houden jullie't mee in de gaten? Want ze komen terug… met een knal!

Fade to black…

On Tuesday evening kane.nl faded to black. In an update early September Dinand mentioned: "Keep your eyes on this site, because soon we'll disappear ourselves haha". Well…mission accomplished…clearly.
Things are happening behind the scenes… mindblowing stuff… you'll keep an eye on it with us? Because they'll return… with a bang!

Omdat op onze myspace pagina de vraag naar KANEalbums zo groot word plaatsten we hier een aantal links naar online webwinkels die de cd's en dvd's van KANE verkopen en ook leveren in het buitenland. In de online catalogus van Mediadis vinden we het 'What if', 'February' en 'Fearless' album terug. Bij Proxis vinden we zowel het 'As long as you want this' album, het 'So glad you made it' album (2 releases), het 'February' als het 'Fearless' album terug.
