...tik, tik, tik, klok tikt door... deze week Londen, dan tikt het in NYC... we gaan officieel in opname...
Deze week werken we even paar dagen in Londen met succesvolle producer YOUTH . Google m ff, mooie dingen. Daarna gaan we in upstate New York de eerste KANE single van album nummer 4 opnemen. Dat gaan we doen in 'THE CLUBHOUSE'. Kun je even opzoeken op www.clubhouseinc.com . Dit wordt het googleminuutje. Check ff Gail Ann Dorsey, Zack Alford & Neil Dorfsman en je krijgt een eerste idee van waar we uithangen. We zitten daar een paar dagen, waarna we weer teruggaan naar producer SCOTT JACOBI (www.scojac.com) in Manhattan.
Moeten we alleen nog leuke eigenheimer vinden om het hele gedoe te mixen...

...tick, tick, tick, time never stops… This week it ticks in London, then we'll be on NYC time… we're going to record… it's official...
This week we'll be working in London for a few days along side the successful producer YOUTH . Try Googling him, you'll find some nice stuff. Then it's right back to upstate New York to record the first KANE single of our fourth album. We'll do that at 'THE CLUBHOUSE'. Just click www.clubhouseinc.com . This is turning out to be a bit of a Google session. Check Gail Ann Dorsey, Zack Alford & Neil Dorfsman as well and you'll get a pretty good idea where we're at. So a few day at this location and we're off again, to producer SCOTT JACOBI (www.scojac.com) in Manhattan.
And that leaves us with finding the perfect link to mix the whole shebang...

Het landelijke radiostation Veronica zendt van 9 tot en met 15 december weer een 'Top 1000 Allertijden' uit. Sinds deze week kunnen luisteraars van Veronica weer stemmen voor de 2007-editie van de Top 1000 Allertijden. Stemmen op de eindejaarslijst, de 'Top 1000 Allertijden' kan nog tot en met 1 december as. via deze link . Ook KANE staat weer met 10 nummers, plus Dinand's lied voor Guusje, in de keuzelijst.
Vorige jaar stonden er 4 KANEnummers in Veronica's Top 1000 Allertijden: 'Can you handle me' op nr. 938, 'I will keep my head down' op nr. 613, 'Damn those eyes' op nr. 343 en 'Rain down on me' op nr. 175...

Kane-gitarist ambassadeur voor Rotterdam

Gisteren stond te lezen op de website van het Haags Pop Podium : Kane-gitarist Dennis van Leeuwen wordt ambassadeur voor de campagne Rotterdam Jongerenhoofdstad.
Deze campagne wordt in 2009 gehouden en moet beleidsmakers en jongeren meer bij elkaar brengen. Naast culturele evenementen worden jongeren betrokken bij het beleid van huisvesting, onderwijs werk en ruimtelijk ordening.
Behalve de in Den Haag geboren - maar al jaren in Rotterdam wonende - Dennis van Leeuwen is nog een aantal ambassadeurs bekend gemaakt, zoals Winne (rapper), Soufiane Touzani (professioneel straatvoetballer), In Soo Radstake (filmmaker), Ronald Molendijk (DJ en producer) en cabaretier Howard Komproe. De ambassadeurs zullen niet alleen het uitgangbord zijn voor het Jongerenjaar. Ook worden zij als een soort buddy gekoppeld aan een Rotterdamse jongere.

In an update on the website of the Haags Pop Podium we can read: Kane-guitarist Dennis van Leeuwen will become ambassador for the Rotterdam Youth metropolis campagne.
This campagne will be launched in 2009 and is aimed to get more interaction between the youth of Rotterdam and its politicians. Beside cultural events the youth will also be involved in lodging, tuition and area planning.
Next to the born in the Hague - but living in Rotterdam for ages - Dennis van Leeuwen there are several other ambassadors, like Winne (rapper), Soufiane Touzani (professional street soccer player), In Soo Radstake (director), Ronald Molendijk (DJ and producer) and cabaret performer Howard Komproe. These ambassadors will not only be the face of this campagne. They'll also have a function as a buddy for one of the participants.

Vanochtend maakte Erwin van Qmusic bekend dat volgende week vrijdag de Rock 100 op Qmusic zal uitgezonden worden. De luisteraars kiezen uit een keuzelijst op de Qwebsite 3 favoriete rocknummers en voegen indien ze dit willen een eigen keuzenummer toe. Wat ons meteen opviel: tussen Anouk, Spin doctors en Pearl jam is geen enkel spoor van KANE te vinden! Vlieg dus als de bliksem naar de Qmusic website , kies je 3 favoriete rocknummers EN voeg als keuzenummer een KANEnummer als 'Something to say' of 'As long as you want this' toe…

Early this morning Erwin at Qmusic announced that Qmusic will broadcast a Rock 100 next Friday. Listeners of Qmusic can choose their 3 favourite rock tracks on the Qmusic website and add an extra track which isn't featured on the website. Hell froze over when we noticed that there wasn't any KANEtrack amongst the others! Time to fix that error, so get your butt over to the Qmusic website , choose your 3 favourite rock tracks AND add an extra KANEtrack of the likes of 'Something to say' or 'As long as you want this'…

Donna's Top 2000, ontstaan ter gelegenheid van de millenniumviering, is intussen een jaarlijks populair radio-event in Vlaanderen geworden. Donna's Top 2000 is uniek. KANE BRENGT NIEUWE PLAAT UIT BIJ UNIVERSAL MUSIC

De Nederlandse rockband KANE heeft een contract getekend bij Universal Music. Medio 2008 zal hun nieuwe album verschijnen.
KANE ontstond in 1998 in Den Haag. In 2000 bracht de band hun debuutalbum 'AS LONG AS YOU WANT THIS' uit. Sindsdien verkocht KANE meer dan 1 miljoen exemplaren, behaalde de band meerdere malen de nummer 1 positie en sleepten zij een groot aantal awards binnen. Live is KANE een van de meest bezochte bands van de Benelux. Momenteel verblijft de band rondom Dinand Woesthoff en Dennis van Leeuwen in Los Angeles en New York, waar de band werkt aan hun vierde album. De langverwachte opvolger van het dubbelplatina album 'FEARLESS' moet in 2008 verschijnen.
'Deze week beginnen de eerste opnames. KANE SIGNS A NEW DEAL WITH UNIVERSAL MUSIC

The Dutch rockband KANE signed a contract with Universal Music. Mid-2008 the new album will be released.
KANE was founded in 1998 in The Hague,Holland. In 2000 the band released its debut album 'AS LONG AS YOU WANT THIS'. Since then KANE sold over a million copies, went several times to the number 1 position in the charts and won a large number of awards.The band is one of the most seen played live in the Benelux. At his moment lead singer Dinand Woesthoff and guitarist Dennis van Leeuwen are working on their 4th album in LA and NY. The eagerly expected follow up album to their double platinum 'FEARLESS' album is expected to be released in 2008.
'This week recording started. we've taken a long time to choose the right partner, because we wanted to be sure of the aim and flow of the new KANE record', says Dinand Woesthoff . 'We've chosen Universal Music because they're the best. Simple and clear.'

KANE TEKENT NIEUWE DEAL BIJ UNIVERSAL MUSIC
Toegegeven... we maakten het best spannend. Maar... met drie fijne aanbiedigen op zak, kun je je nou eenmaal ook iets spannends veroorloven. En dus reden we op die finishlijn af met twee koprijders. Twee favorieten die allebei heel graag wilden en konden winnen. Het werd geen fotofinish, de laatste klap was de knock out...We tekenden afgelopen vrijdag een nieuwe deal bij de meest succesvolle platenmaatschappij van allemaal, maar belangrijker dan al het andere... de maatschappij die ons ervan verzekerde het beste team voor ons te zijn in Nederland en Belgie...

Must admit ... we created a bit of a buzz. But... standing there with three great proposals you can afford a bit of suspense. And so we ended up with two in favour. Two favorites who both wanted to win. Didn't get a photo finish though, it was a knock out… Last Friday we signed a new deal with the most successful record company of all of them, but what's more important… the company who assured us they are the best team for us in the Netherlands and Belgium…

Classic Rock 1000 en Drive Top 25… Stem KANE er in!

De classic rockzender City FM komt ook dit jaar weer met de Classic Rock 1000. Voor het vierde jaar op een rij worden de luisteraars gevraagd om hun tien favoriete rock classics door te geven. En daar horen natuurlijk een paar KANEtracks tussen denken wij dan! Tussen 17 en 21 december zullen de 1000 meest gekozen platen te horen zijn in de Classic Rock 1000 Het stemmen hiervoor is inmiddels al begonnen via deze link op de website van City FM. Onder de stemmers worden diverse prijzen verloot, waaronder een Indie, Fender of Gibson gitaar met een waarde van minimaal 1500 euro. Led Zeppelin stond met 'Stairway to heaven' zowel in 2005 als 2006 op nummer 1 van de Classic Rock 1000. Guns 'n' Roses stond vorig jaar op twee met 'November Rain' gevolgd door Deep Purple met 'Child in time'. Ook KANE stond vorig jaar met 2 singles in deze lijst en wel op nr. 791 met 'Rain down on me' en op nr. 767 met 'Where do I go now'. Bij City FM is het deze maand ook automaand en deze zal worden afgesloten met de Drive Top 25. Dus… bij welke KANEplaten trap jij het gaspedaal net even iets dieper in? Classic rock radio City FM will broadcast the Classic Rock 1000 for the forth time next month. And again listeners of the radio station are asked to vote for their favourite classic rock tracks. So get ready to vote for some KANEtracks again! Between the 17th and the 21th of December the 1000 most popular tracks will appear in the Classic Rock 1000. Votes can already be made on this link on the City FM website. Your vote can be priceless seeing there's a chance to win an Indie, Fender or Gibson guitar with a value of 1500 euro. Led Zeppelin made it to number 1 with 'Stairway to heaven' both in 2005 and 2006 in this Classic Rock 1000. Guns 'n' Roses made it to the number two spot last year with 'November rain' followed by Deep Purple on third position with 'Child in time'. Op zaterdag 6 oktober as. zal er wegens groot succes weer een Nacht van de popmuziek op Ned3 uitgezonden worden. Deze meer dan drie uur lange tombola van bijzondere liveregistraties uit het poparchief, ingeleid en van anekdotes voorzien door Matthijs van Nieuwkerk en Leo Blokhuis is pure verwennerij voor elke muziekliefhebber. Deze krijgt pareltjes te zien uit de schatkamers van de popmuziek: onbekende opnamen van Wilson Pickett met 'Mustang Sally' uit 1968; Earth, Wind & Fire in de hoogtijdagen; Sly Stone in topvorm op Woodstock; rauwe rock met Lemmy van Motorhead, maar ook een zoetgevooisde, piepjonge Neil Diamond met 'Sweet Caroline'.Gaandeweg de nacht komt ook de smaak van het publiek aan bod.
